(real name OUMAR NDIAYE), was born in Dakar (Senegal) and spent his childhood on Gorée Island alone with his guitar accompanied by musicians where he created the African feeling sound. Umaro has won the Silver World Syli 2009 (Canada). In 2010, Umaro participated in the Sahel Festival and the Black World Festival of Arts and Cultures in Senegal. In 1996, he released his album Hoslu featuring American singer Elizabeth Shipley. Today he is a regular part of the monthly charts and radio playlists. He toured through Europe and plays gigs at most of the big festivals in Senegal.

was born in Ottawa and is now living in Kingston, ON. He used to be a professional musician with the Canadian Armed Forces Bands and currently freelances as a percussionist in Kingston.

is a Mexican-Canadian singer, percussionist, dancer and visual artist that has lived in Canada, Mexico, and the Netherlands. She has drummed in Kingston, Montreal, New York, Hawai’i and Mexico.

is a band of musicians who create beautiful, fun, latino rhythms.
Alberto Garcia is from Mexico, and is a professional Luthier who makes violins, violas and cellos. He is also a percussionist in Latin Drums, congas, bongo, maracas, cowbell.
Mauricio Montecinos is from Chile and teaches classical and flamenco style guitar. He is also a vocalist and guitar player.
Guzman Plaza is from Cuba, and is a Professor in Cuba school music and professional, international music player.

9PM door opening
The first toukhoucingalame player competition will take place TONIGHT (May 10, 2017) at The Mansion Kingston. Come experience this fun hand-made instrument from West Africa.
To participate, you'll just need to play the toukhoucingalame during about one minute. Beginners welcomed!
Bring you own toukhoucingalame if you have one! If you don't, toukhoucingalames will be available to rent for $5 tonight.
The Winner will represent Kingston at the International contest during the Festival week in June 2018.
1st prize: one yukulele (generously offered by Long & McQuade - Kingston) + one SaDunya t-shirt + one customized toukhoucingalame
2nd prize: one SaDunya t-shirt + one customized toukhoucingalame
3rd prize: one customized toukhoucingalame + one hug
